OVERVIEW
The University of St. Thomas is hiring a part-time (20 hours per week), Building Service Worker (custodial/janitorial roles) to help keep our campuses clean, safe, and welcoming. As part of the Facilities Management team, you’ll play an important role in creating an exceptional experience for our students, staff, and visitors by maintaining cleanliness and upkeep across our St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses
. The position is scheduled to work 20 hours per week.

- First Shift
- Fri — 11:00am to 3:00pm Sat — 6:30am to 1:00pm Sun — 6:30am to 1:00pm Mon — 11:00am to 3:00pm

Pay & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $22.10
- Shift Differential:
- +$0.70/hour for 2nd shift
- +$0.90/hour for 3rd shift
- Differential applies only to hours worked; not paid on PLT, holidays, or disability leave.

DUTIES INCLUDE
- Routine cleaning of assigned buildings which may include but are not limited to offices, athletic facilities, food service areas, classrooms, restrooms in accordance with university safety and quality standards.
- Vacuuming, dusting, washing and disinfecting surfaces, collecting and hauling trash and recyclable removal
- Additional periodic duties may include carpet and hard floor project work, bulb replacement, setting up areas for events, snow removal
- Occasional room set up and tear downs of table and chairs in preparation for college events
- Occasional heavy lifting of furniture and custodial equipment
Required Qualifications:
- Experience and working knowledge of proper custodial/janitorial cleaning procedures
- Ability to read and understand instructions plus communicate for purposes of supporting event set-ups and safety procedures with attention to detail
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment physical are conditions of employment for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A valid Driver's License
The position may be considered emergency essential, which means if campus closes due to an emergency or inclement weather, emergency essential employees still need to report and complete any regularly scheduled hours.
This is a full-time benefits eligible position that is part of a collective bargaining agreement. New employees must satisfy a 90 working day probationary period and join the union after its satisfactory completion.
