SCHOOL Custodian – Maintenance St Ambrose Academy

St Ambrose Academy is seeking a school custodian (maintenance).

The purpose of this position is to provide cleaning and light maintenance for the St. Ambrose Academy school building.

• Assures the school building is maintained in a clean and orderly manner. Accomplishes this by mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, and washing windows.
• Provides other general assistance as needed through setting up the chairs, tables in the facilities as requested, hauling and moving items, and picking up equipment as requested by staff.
• Assures the collection and disposal of trash.
• Completes routine, non-routine, and emergency maintenance and repairs.
• Support facility maintenance manager.

• Successful work experience implementing a comprehensive cleaning plan for a facility, including sweeping, dusting, washing, and waxing.
• Able to operate larger cleaning equipment.
• Successful work experience maintaining grounds and parking lots.
• Ability to provide own transportation for job-related responsibilities.
• On-call availability for emergencies.

• Ability to work comfortably at heights such as climbing stairs, ladders, platforms and lifts.
• Good physical condition:
  Ability to push, lift, twist, bend, stoop, pull, lift and carry heavy objects and equipment (50+ pounds).
• Ability to work outside in various temperatures and inclement weather conditions for extended periods of time.
• Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time.

Rate of pay: $18 – $20 per hour depending on experience.

This is an evening shift position working Monday to Friday. Flexible full or part time available.
