Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour

Provide cleaning services across the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) campus. This is a 6‑month temp‑to‑hire position with the possibility to become a permanent employee. Shifts are Monday–Friday, 5am–1:30pm.

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of assigned work locations. Primary duties include cleaning and maintaining living areas, event set‑up and tear‑down, offices, hallways, classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, storage areas, entrances, and lobbies. Tasks also include emptying garbage cans and recyclables, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping various floor types, and setting up/removing tables, chairs, and other furniture for campus events. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Reliable transportation to RIT.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and complete workload in a timely manner.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
