We’re currently seeking a Asbestos Abatement Supervisor for our branch in Rochester, NY to assist with asbestos abatement, site‑remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of asbestos materials.
Job SummaryThe Supervisor must be able to manage all aspects of remediation & abatement. This is a working supervisor position; you will be assisting the workers on site as well as ensuring all safety, industry and regulatory standards are met and exceeded.
Job Responsibilities- Understand and enforce project’s detailed scope of work to maintain strict compliance with contract documents, project schedules, and corporate policies and procedures.
- Direct and supervise employees to maintain competent completion of their duties.
- Correct completion of all job‑specific, employee‑related paperwork including safety, toolbox talks, daily timesheets, pictures, etc.
- Ensure that the crew is working safely during all phases of performing their job duties.
- Participate with the training of newly hired employees:
Following training guidelines and realizing the importance of a well‑trained employee to the success of the company/team morale. - Responsible for equipment and materials on the job site.
- Perform job duties in projects not related in asbestos abatement, if needed.
- 2-3 years of experience supervising remediation and/or industrial maintenance projects.
- Current Asbestos Supervisor License.
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing and reasoning skills).
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to manage time efficiently.
- Ability to maintain professionalism toward customers and co‑workers.
- Ability to perform work inside areas of varying dimensions.
- Ability to follow directions; read/speak and understand English; read and understand common danger placards/labels and hazardous warning literature including site safety plans.
- This position requires varying levels of physical activities and physical extremes such as long periods of standing, walking, crouching, use of hands, and heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds or more.
- 40‑hr HAZWOPER certification.
- Confined Space Entry certification.
Successful completion of a pre‑employment background and substance screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search as well as continued verifications throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards.
