Job Title

Plans and performs all necessary preparation and painting refinishing buildings (interior and exterior), furniture and equipment.

Responsibilities:

Plans and performs all necessary preparation and painting refinishing buildings (interior and exterior), furniture and equipment.

SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED:
May guide the work of Painter

B. TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Mixes paints to desired color, shade and consistency using proportions of pigment, base and thinner.
• Prepares and applies stains for furniture.
• Prepares surfaces properly for painting (wash, scrape, wire brush, etc.).
• Applies paint enamels, etc. to proper thickness, using brush, roller or spray.
• Refinishes wood floors.
• Erects and dismantles scaffolding.
• Lays drop cloths to protect floors and furniture from paint splattering; moves furniture as necessary.
• Cleans area after painting: cleans brushes and other painting equipment.
• Performs other special duties requiring comparable skill and responsibility as directed by supervision.
• May guide the work of Painter-B.

REQUIRES: 4-5 years experience.
