Seasonal Scale House Operator
The primary responsibilities of this position are to greet customers entering the scales, collect the necessary information to allow salt loading, and complete the transaction paperwork when the customer is departing the scale area.
The hours for this role are going to vary and will typically start at 5am Monday through Friday depending on weather conditions and as needed. This is a seasonal role that will last roughly from October to March dependent on weather.
Pay Range: $19.00-$21.00 per hour. This is an hourly, seasonal position and the hours will vary.
Responsibilities- Open Scale house as scheduled
- Greet customers as they enter incoming scale
- Verify the customer account and equipment
- Verify that current registration and related paperwork is on file
- Call in product quantity requested to loader operator; not to exceed maximum gross vehicle weight of the vehicle being loaded.
- Manage traffic flow to allow no more than three customer vehicles inside scale area simultaneously (one on outgoing scales, one being loaded, one staged to be loaded)
- Verify scale reading on outgoing scale, generate scale ticket
- Obtain valid, legible signature on scale ticket
- Process paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of the Scale House, including emptying garbage
- Keep walkways and paths, including paths to portable toilets, shoveled and salted
- A high-school diploma or Grade Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required for this job.
- Reasonable written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous clerical experience is desired but will train the right individual.
- Must have basic mathematical and reasoning skills.
- This position will work primarily indoors but will have exposure to the outside elements.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the facility.
