Facility Maintenance Technician
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides a timely and effective response to unanticipated facility needs, minimizing risks to patient and team members, to maintain safety and avoid interruption of service.
Performs and manages assigned tasks including preventive maintenance and on-demand work orders, on equipment and buildings, within the established time frames while meeting departmental expectations for quality of work.
Performs minor electrical, plumbing and HVAC tasks.
Assists in the completion of special projects including insulating, painting, demolition and general clean up.
Completes mandatory detail documentation of tasks performed including time spent performing tasks.
Effectively communicates with customers, peers and leadership.
This position provides potential opportunity to learn basic plumbing, electrical wiring, calibration of thermostats and hospital bed maintenance.
Education, Training, & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification/Licensure
Maintain a valid driver's license
Have and maintain driving record per Mercy's HR-01 Fleet Safety policy
Additional Requirements
Must successfully pass the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check depending on position. Must successfully pass the WI Caregiver's Background Check and/or the IL Healthcare Worker Background Check.
Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.
Pay Range:
$19.79 - $28.69
