Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides a timely and effective response to unanticipated facility needs, minimizing risks to patient and team members, to maintain safety and avoid interruption of service.
  • Performs and manages assigned tasks including preventive maintenance and on-demand work orders, on equipment and buildings, withing the established time frames while meeting departmental expectations for quality of work.
  • Performs minor electrical, plumbing and HVAC tasks.
  • Assists in the completion of special projects including insulating, painting, demolition and general clean up.
  • Completes mandatory detail documentation of tasks performed including time spent performing tasks.
  • Effectively communicates with customers, peers and leadership.
  • This position provides potential opportunity to learn basic plumbing, electrical wiring, calibration of thermostats and hospital bed maintenance.
Education, Training, & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification/License

Maintain a valid driver's license. Have and maintain driving record per Mercy’s HR-01 Fleet Safety policy.

Additional Requirements
  • Must successfully pass the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check depending on position. Must successfully pass the WI Caregiver’s Background Check and/or the IL Healthcare Worker Background Check.
  • Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.

Pay Range: $19.79 - $28.69
