Facility Cleaner – Fitness Center

Schedule:

Part-time | 6–10 hours per week

The Facility Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members, staff, and guests. This role supports the YMCA’s mission by ensuring the fitness center and surrounding areas meet cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards at all times.

• Clean and disinfect fitness center spaces in accordance with YMCA standards
• Vacuum and mop the fitness floor twice per week
• Monitor overall cleanliness and report maintenance or housekeeping concerns to a supervisor
• Pick up and organize equipment and free weights in the weight room
• Meet, greet, and interact positively with members when on the floor
• Maintain a high level of awareness and report suspicious behavior or safety concerns
• Follow all safety, cleaning, and sanitation protocols

• Hours:
  
  6–10 hours per week (minimum of 6 hours guaranteed)
• Preferred days:
  Wednesdays and Fridays
• Typical shift times:
  Midday, approximately 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Flexibility in availability may be discussed during the interview process

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification required within the first 30 days (training provided and paid by the YMCA)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle a variety of situations in a friendly, professional, and service-oriented manner
• Ability to work independently and follow cleaning schedules
• Basic knowledge of YMCA programs and services (training provided)

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks
