The Facility Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining and managing the upkeep of municipal facilities including the Community Center, Aquatic Center, Public Works Facility, and City Hall. The Community Center and Aquatic Center are the primary focus of the position. Duties include facility cleaning and maintenance, arranging Community Center rooms for programs and events, and scheduling and supervising evening and weekend part‑time staff to ensure facilities remain clean, safe, and operational.
Working hours are Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:45 PM, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
Through observation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices, this position identifies maintenance needs and communicates repair and replacement recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Superintendent. Repairs may be completed in‑house or coordinated with outside contractors as appropriate.
The Supervisor also monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots aquatic facility systems—including chemical feed equipment, pumps, filtration systems, plumbing, electrical components, and related infrastructure. This position serves as the primary point of contact for mechanical systems and helps ensure City facilities remain safe, functional, and ready for public use.
Primary DutiesSeasonal grounds maintenance such as leaf removal, mulching, planting, pruning, mowing, grass trimming, weeding, and watering of all landscaped areas. Provide, schedule, and keep records of preventive maintenance checks on all equipment and facility appliances. Perform snow removal on sidewalks and parking areas with a truck and snowplow as needed. Maintain and complete cleaning schedules for all areas within the Community Center.
Hire, delegate, and supervise part‑time custodial staff. Order and maintain inventory of cleaning and operational supplies. Monitor facility conditions and identify maintenance, repair, and replacement needs. Maintain maintenance records, inspection logs, and operational documentation. Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities performed by outside contractors and vendors.
This role combines hands‑on facility maintenance responsibilities with supervision of part‑time custodial staff and coordination of facility operations.

- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and two years of increasingly responsible experience in facility maintenance, operations, construction, or administration. Associate’s degree in business, construction, or related field preferred.
