Job Summary
Maintains cleanliness and order of school district facilities by performing heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
Responsibilities- Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
- Dust and mop floors following approved procedures.
- Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and re‑place furniture in correct position.
- Clean assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment; sanitize all surfaces and follow the eight‑step cleaning procedure.
- Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for students, visitors and staff.
- Seek out areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks.
- Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Perform tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
- Strip, scrub, buff and refine floors; shampoo carpet.
- Contribute to the team and exhibit professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to follow safety and infection control procedures.
- Good physical stamina and willingness to work varied shifts.
- Full‑time and part‑time schedules; days may vary 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Pay $15.50–$16.00 per hour.
