Overview

The Carrier Integration Specialist is responsible for managing insurance carrier book of business transfers, responding to carrier inquiries, and processing merger associated business transfer paperwork. This role exercises independent judgment and discretion in advising leadership on business optimization opportunities and driving process improvements. The role is responsible for ensuring maximizing carrier relationships and ensuring the full transfer of business per instructions and supporting the cash receipts process.

you'll make an impact

Provide full support for M&A activities by integrating the acquired business in the most efficient and beneficial way, such as:

  • Lead integration projects for carriers, including business alignment, process optimization, and M&A carrier conversions into the National Accounting Center (NAC).
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with key carrier partners
  • Oversee documentation processes and handle escalations related to carrier conversions, including facilitating the completion of special forms
  • Conduct periodic meetings with key carriers to enhance partnerships and manage escalation paths to resolve M&A issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the M&A Team, NAC and branches, to facilitate smooth operations and support shared goals.
  • Maintain accurate contracting data, carrier contact lists, agency codes, and a comprehensive carrier contacts library
  • Administer and manage escalations for Carrier Portal Access for commission statements.
  • Identify opportunities for carrier consolidation to optimize operations
  • Work with the M&A team to close legacy bank accounts for recent acquisition partners that have converted to the NAC.
  • Lead carrier communication for book transfer through phone, email, and other channels.
  • Exercise independent judgment in resolving complex issues, escalating matters as needed, and recommending solutions to leadership.
  • Manage carrier notification process and timing
  • Complete business transfer documents and other necessary paperwork to ensure smooth business transition
  • Consult with cash receipts as needed to review acquired agency codes for assigned carriers to determine proper business alignment and business optimization
  • Track integration progress for each carrier and elevate issues if needed
  • Provide feedback to continuously improve standard operating procedures for improving relationships with carriers and streamlining the process
  • Maintain carrier contact list for assigned carriers
  • May include training, assigning tasks, and monitoring workflow(s) within the contracting team. Supports performance management and development of new staff as needed.

About You

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance markets and carrier operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of carrier communication protocols and end-to-end contracting processes.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and database systems.
  • Analytical Thinking:
    Synthesizes complex information and uses data to inform decisions.
  • Project Management:
    Manages multiple priorities and meets deadlines.
