Position Description

BEAR Construction is seeking a highly motivated industry professional to support our growing Healthcare Market. This role is focused on implementing various delivery methods, leveraging estimating expertise, and utilizing technology solutions to enhance project execution and team performance. The ideal candidate has a proven commitment to client excellence, understands the complexities of occupied healthcare environments, and applies a forward‑thinking approach throughout both the preconstruction and construction phases.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will plan, estimate, and manage healthcare construction projects from concept through closeout. This includes renovations, infrastructure upgrades, phased construction, and projects within active healthcare facilities where patient care, infection control, and operational continuity are critical. You will oversee construction procedures, validate project budgets and estimates, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Responsibilities
  • Lead healthcare construction projects through all phases including preconstruction, estimating, scheduling, construction, and closeout
  • Participate in conceptual, schematic, and GMP estimating efforts for healthcare clients and facilities
  • Coordinate construction activities within occupied healthcare environments while minimizing disruption to patient care and hospital operations
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare construction standards, infection control protocols (ICRA), interim life safety measures (ILSM), and facility‑specific requirements
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare clients, facility teams, architects, engineers, and trade partners
  • Review and validate project budgets, cost estimates, scopes, and assumptions throughout the project lifecycle
  • Analyze subcontractor/vendor proposals for pricing alignment, completeness, and constructability
  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules that account for phased work, shutdowns, and operational constraints
  • Perform regular site walkthroughs to ensure safety compliance, quality control, and adherence to healthcare regulations and standards
  • Help manage and mentor BEAR project team members while fostering a collaborative, high‑performing environment
  • Provide value engineering solutions that support client goals, operational efficiency, and long‑term facility performance
  • Oversee invoicing, projections, contract administration, and financial reporting
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the healthcare construction industry
Position Requirements Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of commercial construction project management experience
  • Healthcare construction experience strongly preferred
  • Experience managing projects in occupied healthcare facilities, including renovations and phased construction
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, infection control practices (ICRA), and life safety requirements
  • Proven background in preconstruction, estimating, cost modeling, and budget validation
  • Thorough understanding of architectural, structural, civil, and MEPFP systems
  • OSHA safety trained with experience in healthcare safety and compliance standards
  • Ability to lead complex projects while maintaining strict safety, quality, and operational standards
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with clients, consultants, and field teams
  • Proficient with construction scheduling, estimating, and project management software
  • Self‑motivated, organized, collaborative, and solutions‑oriented
