* SUMMARY:

** The dance instructor position is responsible for a variety of duties including teaching basic dance techniques, teaching a dance routine per each class for the dance recital, ordering costumes, keeping attendance records for each class, notifying supervisor of any time off needs or students needing additional help. This is an at-will position. Primary duties include:
* Develop curriculum for classroom instruction including dance terminology, warm ups, stretching, technique and choreography.
* Select age appropriate music for instruction purposes.
* Order and distribute costumes for the dance recital in a timely fashion.
* Ensure the safety of children and adults during dance classes.
* Provide an inclusive environment.
* Complete any necessary accident report forms.
* Care for equipment provided by the Rolling Meadows Park District before, during, and after each class.
* Maintain cleanliness in dance room during and after each class.
* Adhere to general rules and policies of the Rolling Meadows Park District.
* Other duties as assigned.

* QUALIFICATIONS:

** Must be at least 16 years of age with at least a minimum qualification to teach beginning level dance classes of three or more disciplines. Must be able to teach a variety of dance styles and able to work independently. Previous experience interacting with and teaching children a plus. Candidates must have or be able to obtain First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
** SCHEDULE & PAY:
** Schedule includes weekday afternoon and/or evening hours and morning hours on the weekend (Saturdays) during the school year, depending on program needs. The full pay range is $15-$28 per hour, depending upon qualifications. Plus applicable facility and program discounts.
