Senior Manager, Education Development and Programs

The Senior Manager, Education Development and Programs serves as a strategic leader responsible for the development, growth, execution, and evaluation of the Association's educational portfolio. This role partners closely with physician leadership, committees, and internal stakeholders to create innovative educational programs that advance the organization's mission, increase learner engagement, and drive non-dues revenue.

The Senior Manager provides leadership for live and virtual learning experiences, enduring educational content, and emerging professional development opportunities. The position is responsible for managing staff and fostering innovation while advancing strategic educational priorities.

Essential Functions

Strategic Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the Association's education strategy in alignment with organizational goals and physician leadership priorities.
  • Identify new educational opportunities, market trends, learner needs, and revenue-generating initiatives that expand the educational portfolio.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish annual and multi-year educational objectives, performance metrics, and growth strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to physician leaders, course directors, and committees on educational planning, adult learning principles, and program effectiveness.
  • Develop recommendations for new products, certificates, workshops, webinars, online courses, and leadership development programs.
  • Utilize data analytics and learner feedback to evaluate program success and guide future educational investments.

Education Program Development

  • Direct the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of live, virtual, hybrid, and enduring educational programs.
  • Lead curriculum development efforts, including educational needs assessments, learning objectives, content strategy, and outcome measurement.
  • Partner with faculty and subject matter experts to develop innovative educational experiences that improve learner performance and patient outcomes.
  • Oversee the integration of new learning technologies and educational delivery platforms.
  • Ensure educational content aligns with accreditation standards, adult learning principles, and organizational objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance learner engagement, satisfaction, and educational outcomes.

Business Development and Revenue Growth

  • Identify and develop new educational products and revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with development, sponsorship, and industry relations teams to secure educational grants and industry support.
  • Develop business plans for new educational initiatives and evaluate financial viability.
  • Monitor educational program profitability and implement strategies to achieve revenue and expense goals.
  • Support strategic partnerships with healthcare organizations, academic institutions, and industry stakeholders to expand educational reach.

Committee and Physician Leadership Support

  • Serve as the primary staff liaison to assigned committees, task forces, and educational work groups.
  • Build strong relationships with physician leaders, faculty, volunteers, and external partners.
  • Facilitate strategic discussions regarding educational priorities, emerging trends, and future program development.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership and governing bodies.

Project and Operational Management

  • Lead multiple complex projects simultaneously while ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and organizational priorities.
  • Implement project management best practices and operational efficiencies across the education department.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and workflow documentation.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with organizational policies and accreditation requirements.

Leadership and Staff Development

  • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and professional development for education staff.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and service-oriented culture.
  • Coach staff in project management, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and initiatives that support organizational priorities.
Qualifications
  • College degree required. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in association education, continuing medical education, healthcare education, or professional development.
  • Demonstrated success leading educational strategy, program development, and staff management. Experience developing new educational products and revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail including the ability to coordinate workflow, determine priorities, meet deadlines and effectively balance competing demands.
  • Team-centered focus with the ability to lead team efforts efficiently with limited resources.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to prepare quality documentation.…
