LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join our client's organization in the Rolling Meadows, IL area.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee electrical, controls, and mechanical engineering activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Serve as the technical expert for electrical/controls engineering, including embedded hardware, PCB design, firmware, and automation systems.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering team members to support strong performance and professional growth.
  • Manage project plans, resources, and technical deliverables across multiple initiatives.
  • Drive the design and development of electromechanical and automation products based on roadmap requirements.
  • Translate market and customer needs into technical specifications and engineered solutions.
  • Ensure product reliability, compliance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, productivity, and product performance.
  • Conduct root cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and promote best-practice sharing.
  • Provide advanced technical support and guidance to internal teams and customers.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with product management, operations, and other departments.
  • Report regularly to senior leadership regarding engineering activities, risks, and progress.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical, controls, or electromechanical engineering.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing engineering teams.
  • Hands‑on expertise with embedded hardware, PCB layout, automation/controls systems, and small drives/motors.
  • Strong background in electromechanical system design, troubleshooting, and product development.
  • Proficiency with CAD and electrical modeling/simulation tools.
  • Experience in automation, machinery, or vertical‑transportation‑related industries is a plus.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to evaluate risks, make sound decisions, and drive technical execution effectively.
