Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Embedded Software Engineer - Manufacturing Test Engineering (RF Systems) based in Rolling Meadows, IL.

Manufacturing Engineers thrive in an environment of daily challenges and close proximity to products, partnering with production to lead troubleshooting and ensure excellence in hardware and software. This role supports software efforts associated with testing Radio Frequency (RF) production hardware in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain test software supporting production, coordinate with Electrical Design Engineering, Software & Firmware Engineering, Production Technicians, Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Quality to meet contractual acceptance testing and environmental screening commitments.
  • Design, code, integrate, and validate software to meet new or modified testing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing acceptance testing procedures, environmental screening procedures, and hardware drawings of test equipment and fixtures.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, cycle time, and defects based on quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to achieve testability in new and updated product designs.
  • Interface with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors as needed.

Building strong professional relationships with Manufacturing disciplines and upholding ethical standards are essential.

What You Will Do
  • Support to Production:
    Review and update software governing how test equipment operates and troubleshoot discrepancies in software packages.
  • Software design, coding, integration, and validation to meet testing requirements.
  • Test procedure development and maintenance for Manufacturing Acceptance testing and Environmental Screening, including hardware drawings of test equipment and fixtures.
  • Continuous improvement: analyze quality metrics and implement improvements.
  • Testability reviews in collaboration with design engineering.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience, or Master of Science with 0+ years experience.
  • Experience with hardware and calibration/testing methodology.
  • Experience with test instruments (e.g., Network Analyzer, Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope).
  • Experience with programming languages such as C#, C, LabVIEW or Lab Windows/CVI.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, or firmware issues.
  • Experience delivering software projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting experience with test equipment or prime hardware.
  • Experience troubleshooting the unit under test.
  • Experience with RF electronic systems in manufacturing or design environments.
  • Familiarity with reading schematics and electrical one-lines.
  • Experience using Git Hub.
  • Active DoD Security Clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $. This range is a general guideline; base salary offers consider scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply where applicable. Long Term Incentives may be available for certain roles. Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, holidays, and PTO for vacation/personal time.
