Overview

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Credit Manager to join our team. The role involves shaping and implementing credit policies aligned with organizational goals, managing a team, overseeing credit evaluations, monitoring portfolio performance, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver impactful financial outcomes. The position requires establishing clear objectives, tracking progress against key metrics, and championing Continuous Improvement tools to enhance team performance.

Responsibilities
  • Coach and mentor the credit team using the Socratic method, promoting forward‑looking KPI development.
  • Support credit and commercial teams in leadership discussions, including executive‑level calls, internally and externally.
  • Assist business partners in regular reviews, leveraging analytics and financial intelligence to provide economic insights, uncover growth opportunities, and present strategic solutions.
  • Serve as escalation point for credit policy exceptions and operational challenges.
  • Establish and monitor credit limits to minimize financial exposure while supporting business growth.
  • Continuously evaluate operational processes for effectiveness and efficiency, applying Lean practices to streamline credit operations.
  • Facilitate problem‑solving activities to address root causes of inefficiencies and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Foster cross‑functional collaboration with sales, operations, and finance teams.
  • Prepare and present regular financial and credit performance reports to all levels of leadership, highlighting key metrics and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and global regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to meet operational excellence goals.
  • Leverage technology to improve efficiency and automation in financial and credit processes.
  • Stay updated on global economic trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in credit and collections management tools, using knowledge to drive better decisions and mitigate risk.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop credit teams across multiple regions to create global practices and ensure consistent application of best practices.
  • Outline employee role accountabilities and expectations; manage performance to drive right behaviors and provide real‑time coaching, feedback, mentoring, development activities, and stretch assignments.
  • Commit to long‑term personal and professional growth for team members, fostering a culture of feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Gather data and provide input to support the creation of financial performance goals, including revenue and expense budgets.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, operations, finance, and/or credit.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leading and managing teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (domestically and internationally).

Preferred:

  • Deep financial knowledge and strong written and verbal communication skills at an executive level.
  • Demonstrated application of Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent process improvement methodology in a leadership position.
  • CCE or other credit‑related certification(s).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, credit rating software, and ERP systems.
  • Strong ability to partner, consult, and influence multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Effective change implementation skills.
  • Motivation to encourage change and achieve positive results in a large, dispersed organization.
  • Commitment to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Compensation

Base pay range: $71,800.00 – $. The individual base pay within this range is determined by work location and additional factors such as skills, experience, and education. This range reflects base pay only and does not include variable compensation.
