Required Skills & Experience Strong experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst supporting software development projects. Ability to read and understand data models, file layouts, interface specifications, APIs, and integration documentation. Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting. Experience with data mapping, transformation logic, and data migration initiatives. Experience working within Agile delivery teams using Jira and related SDLC tools.
AI-Enabled Analysis:
Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate requirements analysis, documentation, data validation, and user story development while applying appropriate business judgment to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance. Ability to independently analyze complex datasets and communicate findings clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience Experience supporting billing, accounting, finance, or premium administration functions. Experience with reconciliation processes, financial reporting, invoicing, premium calculations, payment processing, and financial controls. Understanding of enrollment, eligibility, carrier reporting, billing, and financial workflows within healthcare, insurance, benefits administration, or student health insurance environments. Experience supporting accounting and financial operations requirements. Familiarity with carrier enrollment processing, reconciliation activities, and financial data validation.
Job Description Arthur J. Gallagher is looking for a stronger Technical BA profile with significant experience in data analysis, SQL, integrations, reconciliation, and billing/accounting-related functionality. Experience supporting insurance, healthcare, benefits administration, or student health insurance platforms would be highly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable partnering with both technology teams and accounting/business stakeholders while driving complex requirements, data analysis, and system enhancement efforts.
Responsibilities include:
Partner with business stakeholders, developers, QA resources, and accounting teams to elicit, document, and refine business and system requirements. Translate complex business processes and financial requirements into detailed functional specifications, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and data mapping documents. Support student health insurance platform enhancements, school migrations, billing process enhancements, data migration activities, and related system integrations. Perform data analysis, reconciliation, validation, and troubleshooting across multiple systems and data sources.
Analyze inbound and outbound carrier, enrollment, eligibility, and financial data files to identify discrepancies, rules, and process improvement opportunities. Facilitate requirements workshops, backlog refinement sessions, system demonstrations, and UAT activities. Support production issue analysis, root cause investigation, and solution validation.
