Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team in Elgin, IL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate shipping records, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and on time. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Prepare and process domestic and international shipments.
- Create shipping labels, packing slips, and bills of lading.
- Verify outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate daily pickups with freight carriers and parcel services (UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, LTL carriers, etc.).
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation and inventory records.
- Enter shipping information into the ERP system.
- Package products according to customer and company specifications.
- Assist with receiving incoming materials as needed.
- Communicate with customer service, warehouse, and production teams to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk, Shipping & Receiving Clerk, or Warehouse Shipping Coordinator preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using UPS World Ship, Fed Ex Ship Manager, or similar shipping software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Forklift experience is a plus but not required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
