Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Production Control Manager (M1) based in Rolling Meadows, IL, to lead a team supporting builds and/or testing of various products in support of multiple business needs and programs. The role focuses on precision, data, details, and quality; includes daily time approval, adherence to the manufacturing resource planning schedule, meeting contractual requirements on schedule, and establishing production priorities in the manufacturing cells.

The manager will establish goals and conduct performance reviews, lead material movement and production scheduling to ensure efficient, predictable, and timely operations, and develop a high-performing team through engagement and development initiatives.

The Production Control Manager is accountable for driving on-time delivery, optimizing workflow across the value stream, and maintaining alignment with cross-functional partners on-site to support production schedules, capacity planning, and resolving technical issues as needed. The role involves data analysis and use of process flows to improve operational efficiency and minimize cycle time in manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, inventory-controlled manufacturing environment and demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team that supports builds and/or testing of products; manage daily time approval and adherence to schedules
  • Establish production priorities in manufacturing production cells
  • Set goals and conduct performance reviews for team members
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute material movement and production scheduling
  • Develop a high-performing team through employee development and clear communication
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support production schedules and capacity planning
  • Analyze data and processes to ensure operational efficiency and minimize cycle time
  • Resolve technical issues in coordination with appropriate stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; or in lieu of a degree, 8 years in a leadership role with continuous progression
  • Minimum 3+ years of manufacturing, production, or engineering experience
  • Experience understanding manufacturing concepts; strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret metrics, and drive actionable decisions
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • US citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, manufacturing engineering, or other STEM field
  • Experience managing people or projects
  • Experience with SAP and GOLDesp or similar ERP systems
  • Experience with Tableau reporting dashboards
  • Experience with production control, scheduling, inventory management, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with quality, compliance, and audit requirements in manufacturing
  • Active Security Clearance
