Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as an Optical
Precision Electromechanical Assembler 3 based out of Rolling Meadows, IL
.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the execution and support of all optical activities as they relate to the production of optical-mechanical assemblies, including tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on opto-mechanical, electro-optical and electronic and/or mechanical assemblies. Working from diagrams and drawings, making initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools. Performs continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.

May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications provided by engineering groups.

What You Will Get To Do
  • Use a variety of metrology and inspection tools to test and inspect optical and mechanical components for accuracy and quality.
  • May build or modify equipment used to test precision optics.
  • Set up and test complete units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
  • Work in accordance with established safety rules and good housekeeping practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications For The Optical Precision Electromechanical Assembler 3
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 4 year of optical assembly experience/
  • Experience with handling and cleaning of optics.
  • Experience following work instructions and reading/interpreting drawings.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Optical alignment experience.
  • Prototyping experience.
  • Troubleshooting experience.

Primary Level Salary Range: $53,500.00 - $89,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
