Position Details
Hourly Pay Range: $38.16 - $59.15 (determined by expertise and years of experience, among other factors)
Position: Registered Nurse – Certified Wound / Ostomy
Location: Northwest Community Hospital – Arlington Heights, IL
Hours: 40 hours every 2 weeks; days shift, generally 8:00am-4:30pm with some flexibility required
Status: Non‑exempt
Required Travel: No
Responsibilities- Will work in both inpatient and outpatient areas as needed
- Serves as an expert resource to staff for patients and families with complex physical and/or psychological problems and acts as a resource for high‑tech procedures and equipment
- Demonstrates expertise in delivering quality nursing care within the specialty, including central line consultation, wound care, Code Blue Team membership, IV consultation, or specialty area specific skills and procedures
- Collaborates in a multi‑disciplinary approach to plan and deliver patient care and maintains peer relationships that demonstrate support, cost‑effective quality patient care, and outcome‑centered interactions
- Involves family/guardian in plan of care and conducts patient and family education, as appropriate, considering the developmental level of the patient
- Serves as a role model for staff in clinical practice; demonstrates leadership in clinical decision‑making and provides clinical support for the patient in crisis
- Assess, treat, and care for all age groups of patients; implement assessment, treatment, and care based on developmental stages
- Interpret and implement procedures, policies, and nursing care objectives to patients, families, and caregivers
- Participate in creation and evaluation of standards for clinical practice
- Identify learning needs of staff and orientees, provide in‑services and unit instruction, collaborate with Nursing Educators to develop clinical learning experiences
- Work with preceptors and orientees; assist preceptor in evaluating orientee progress; provide feedback, set goals, evaluate orientation process, and provide assessment of orientation success
- Adhere to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing, Bachelor of Science or Nursing degree required
- Licensure to practice Nursing in the state of Illinois
- Wound Care Certification
- Minimum of four years clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing; preferred experience in critical care nursing
- Current CPR certification
