Internship With WINGS

Why Intern With WINGS?

• Direct work with adults, children, and families experiencing domestic violence or homelessness
• Trauma-informed practice and safety-planning skills
• Weekly supervision (1–2 hours individual; 1.5 hours group in some settings)

What You'll Do

• Assessments and intakes
• Case management support
• Individual and group counseling
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary team members
• Participation in department and team meetings

Internship Requirements

• 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training (provided by WINGS; counts toward hours for 340+ hour students)
• School liability insurance
• Criminal background check
• DCFS background check
• Two letters of recommendation
• Unofficial transcripts
• 12–25 hours/week including 1–2 evenings, possible weekend availability
• Undergraduate or graduate students in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field

Locations:
Chicago and the Northwest Suburbs (placement determined by skill level and program needs)

WINGS asks that internships be connected to a student's school, either as a required component of their program or for internship credit.
