You will receive quarterly $0.50 per hour step increases during your first year of employment, bringing the pay rate to [starting rate + $2] by the end of your first year at RJW.
Job PurposeTo perform loading/unloading of RJW trucks and outside carriers; ensure all shipments are properly stored in the warehouse and pick orders from warehouse inventory as directed by customer.
Responsibilities- Loading/unloading truck/trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.
- Picking and moving items from 1 lb to 50 lbs or more multiple times.
- Ensuring all documentation is properly completed.
- Coordinating with dispatch and sales to resolve any discrepancies.
- Properly storing all inbound loads in the correct warehouse location.
- Ensuring all shipments are properly marked before storing/picking.
- Maintaining warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
- Spotting trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment into warehouse.
- Coordinating paperwork with drivers after normal dispatch operations are finished for the day.
- General maintenance of area surrounding warehouse.
- Ensuring trailers are swept clean of any debris when empty.
- Ensuring all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
- Processing outbound freight cross‑dock freight as necessary.
- Operating stand‑up reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and some sit‑down forklift work.
- Following all safety procedures at all times.
- Building pallets and breaking down stock.
- Working in a fast‑paced warehouse.
- Other tasks as assigned by manager.
- Operating forklift, cherry picker, and stand‑up reach forklift.
- Good communication, problem resolution and people skills.
- Maintaining orderly operation of warehouse.
- 1 year forklift driving experience.
- Certified forklift license.
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Ability to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
- Reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Writing reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and effectively presenting information to groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Computing rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs.
- Solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables where limited standardization exists.
- Interpreting instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Determining root cause and corrective action.
- Knowledge of business operating systems, Internet software, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Using keyboards and buttons in phone systems.
- Articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
- Regular indoor/office work requiring sitting and repetitive hand motion.
- Frequent talking, hearing, standing, and walking.
- Working in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
- Working under stressful situations with good cognitive skills and accuracy.
- Reading and discerning visual images on various media with 20/20 corrected vision.
- Clear communication over telephone.
- Sound physical health per physician assessment with no controlled substance evidence.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
- Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
