As a Field Furniture Restoration Specialist with Ashley, you’ll travel to customers’ homes and retail locations to diagnose and repair case goods, leather, and upholstered pieces—often fixing handling or in-home damage on the spot.

A Day in the Life—What You’ll Handle Independently repair all product types with minimal guidance.

Complete entry-level repairs plus tasks requiring additional skill.

Perform minor top-surface repairs on case pieces and tables.

Execute solid-color paper/side refinishes.

Rebuild and refinish small corner damages.

Apply a general understanding of spray booth set up and use.

Perform advanced replacement-part repairs.

Communicate tool, part, and hardware needs; keep the repair area/shop clean.

Help inspect damaged products and determine if they can be repaired to like-new condition.

Coach warehouse personnel on minor touch-up techniques during inspections.

Document and follow through on recurring product damages.

Assist other technicians as needed.

Accurately report when repairs cannot be completed.

Assess damages and determine the most efficient repair method.

Identify damage, loss, or surplus of goods and materials in the warehouse.

Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in all functions.

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.

Use all department products with proper safety practices.

Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle with required materials and supplies.

Adhere to company driving policy and meet annual MVR review requirements.

Follow your planned route to ensure on-time arrival for customer repairs.

Operate hand and power tools safely—especially drills, impact drivers, and multi-tools.

Complete bench testing evaluations for regular validation of skills.

What You Bring High School Diploma.
1-year practical work experience in furniture repair (upholstery, leather, wood refinishing) OR related materials experience with color matching.

Ability to read, write, and understand English; additional languages are a plus.

Self-directed with strong time-management skills.

Comfort learning in-house computer programs.

Valid Driver’s License and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record per company guidelines.

Physical Requirements Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception and focus adjustment to read reports and view screens.

Ability to hear and understand speech to interact with others.

Clear verbal communication.

Periods of seated work.

Repetitive hand tasks including keyboarding, handwriting, office/POS, and handheld equipment operation.

Extended standing and moving about on foot.

Bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching at/above shoulder level.

Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; more with assistance.

Work primarily in private homes or retail establishments; occasional work in warehouse locations.

Potential exposure to oil, latex, spray paint, household chemicals, biological odors, household dusts; moderate office noise.
