The Valley View Public School District seeks a part‑time Cafeteria Helper (4 hours, approx. 10:00 AM–02:00 PM) at Romeoville High School.
Job SummaryAssist the building maintenance repairman with housekeeping duties related to the school lunch program.
Essential Functions- Setting up and taking down lunch tables
- Collecting and disposing of trash
- Cleaning cafeteria tables and benches
- Mopping the cafeteria floor
- Performing other duties as assigned in line with this classification
- Cooperative teamwork and ability to take direction from supervisors
- Ability to identify and report problems and building needs
- Willingness to perform the quantity and quality of work in a safety‑conscious manner
- Serve as a role model for students and maintain an environment conducive to learning
- Good health with a negative TB test and physical exam
The work year is 174 days. The environment has moderate to loud noise levels, limited temperature hazards, and requires walking, sitting, bending, and standing for most of the shift. Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 lb consistently, with heavier weights sometimes required.
Pay Scale and Benefit DisclosurePay rate: $21.66 per hour. No benefits offered.
