2nd Shift Maintenance Lead – Food Manufacturing – High-Speed Packaging Equipment – Romeoville, IL

Shift: 2nd Shift. Salary: $34 – $39 per hour (DOE). Regular overtime opportunities.

We are a longstanding food manufacturing leader based in Romeoville, IL, supporting large‑scale production with high‑speed packaging and processing equipment. The operation runs 24/7 in a safety‑first environment and values collaboration among maintenance, production, and sanitation teams.

• Lead maintenance activities and support the Maintenance Manager in daily operations.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair high‑speed packaging and processing equipment.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting on 110/230/460 V systems, motors, relays, panels, and wiring.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and schedule work orders.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor programming on PLC systems.
• Maintain conveyors, wrappers, check‑weighers, cartoners, and case packers.
• Support facility maintenance, including plumbing, lighting, and building systems.
• Train employees on equipment safety, lifts, and welding practices.
• Assist with wastewater system operations and coverage.
• Coordinate and monitor contractors performing maintenance or repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including LOTO and OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain equipment readiness for production and minimize downtime.
• Fabricate parts and modify equipment as needed.
• Communicate effectively across maintenance, production, sanitation, and leadership teams.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 + years of experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Strong background in food manufacturing (USDA or FDA environments).
• Experience with high‑speed packaging and conveyor systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and PLCs.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols (LOTO, OSHA).
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
