Day shift Monday-Friday, and must be available if needed on all shifts and all days including holidays

Position

Purpose:

The maintenance director is responsible for supporting the plant manager in providing leadership and direction to lead millwright, lead electrician and all maintenance personnel in their daily job routines in a way that maximizes production, minimizes downtime, and reduces costs. The maintenance director keeps the plant manager and plant superintendents informed of all problems and progress. The maintenance director is responsible for supporting and promoting company policies and procedures while encouraging the same positive behavior in each member of the maintenance team.

Position Functions:

Essential Functions
* These duties are designated as ADA Essential Functions and must be performed in this job.

Define, develop, and oversee a program to organize the maintenance team's resources and efforts.

Support and participate in all company safety efforts.

Act as coach and mentor for all positions supervised.

Set goals for the maintenance team with the input from plant manager.

Work with plant superintendents to limit downtime and to improve maintenance's overall performance.

Facilitate maintenance activities in the plant utilizing preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.

Ensure plant machinery is in a condition to attain 100% run time.

Oversee installation, maintenance and fabrication of equipment and machinery according to layout plans, using hand and power tools.

Support and promote all company safety policies for lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment, hazardous materials handling, and SHARP compliance.

Work directly with plant manager, project managers, and outside vendors to provide seamless transition from project status to operating status of projects as assigned.

Oversee execution of action plans for maintenance and production to reach plant goals for production and recovery.

Monitor and report maintenance performance to plant manager.

Assist in coordination with production and quality functions.

Oversee the design, implementation, and constant improvement of company's preventive maintenance programs.

Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.

Ensure appropriate preventive maintenance programs are in place.

Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.

Provide honest and timely feedback to maintenance personnel through informal dailycommunications and annual evaluations.

Troubleshoot and problem solve to reduce downtime.

Other duties as assigned

Non-Essential Functions These duties are secondary in nature and are not classified as ADA essential.

Additional duties as assigned by plant manager for facilitation of production.

Working Environment : (1) Entering enclosed areas, noisy environment and dusty environment. Inside 90%, average temperature 70 degrees F (2) Outside 10%; extreme low temperature 10 degrees F, extreme high temperature 105 degrees

Physical Demands:
See the attached Job/Task Evaluation and Physical Capabilities portion; this position requires constant use of hearing and vision, frequent bending, twisting, pushing/pulling and reaching, and occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling more than 50 lbs. Climb ladders, standing for long periods of time.

Mental Demands:
Organizing and coordinating schedules; analyzing and interpreting data; problem solving, completing written work orders. Must be able to concentrate in a noisy environment, deal with frequent interruptions, juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines, exercise independent judgment or perform other mental tasks.

Skills :
