Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Automotive Technician
Responsibilities
- Assists in repair of all departmental equipment and vehicles.
- Performs scheduled maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Conducts road tests on repaired equipment and vehicles.
- Inventories and orders parts as needed.
- Performs minor welding projects as needed.
- Instructs and/or assists other employees with their duties.
- Maintains records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 2 years experience as Mechanic or Mechanic Helper.
- Knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair.
- Good interpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with other employees and elected officials.
- Ability to complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Mechanic certification may be required.
Salary Range: $20.50 - $25.63 hourly based on qualifications
