Environmental Services Associate Technician

Job Summary

You can make a difference in patients' lives as an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health. Your contributions in this role have a direct impact on high-quality care; you'll be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining the appearance and condition of our floors, carpets, and upholstery. Communication and collaboration with other team members are essential to ensure continuity of service and help foster a positive work environment.

No experience is required – you will be fully trained and supported and can grow and learn new skills to develop your career.

• Cleaning, disinfecting, and stocking of patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Removal and disposal of linens and waste streams.
• Performing interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery.
• Assembling, maintaining, and storing equipment and supplies necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicating and collaborating with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Reporting general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assisting visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital.
• Working within one cleaning area or across department sites as required for coverage.
• Actively participating in safety initiatives and risk‑mitigating measures, and completing all unit safety competencies and requirements on time.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to read and follow instructions.
• High school graduate or equivalent (preferred).
• Public service or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting (preferred).

Part‑time, variable shift. 20 hours of work per week with variable days worked and weekend frequency.
