Environmental Attendant Lead

Job Summary

You will make a difference in patients' lives as an Environmental Attendant Lead with Corewell Health. Your contributions have a direct impact on high‑quality care; you will be responsible for basic cleaning tasks and will have the opportunity to supervise and coordinate the activities of the Environmental Attendants. You will interact with visitors and staff regularly, so communication and collaboration are essential to ensure continuity of service and help foster a positive work environment.

• Continuously inspect and observe all areas requiring Environmental Services under the general supervision of the Manager, Environmental Services & Dispatch.
• Allocate work to Environmental Services staff and continuously inspect these accomplishments to ensure conformance with cleanliness standards.
• Ensure all assignments are completed timely and convey results to the Manager.
• Perform all duties of the Environmental Services classification up to and including project work and covering schedules when needed.
• Perform work of equal skill and responsibility as directed; may also perform higher‑level work when required.
• Serve as the communication line between varied shifts.
• Set an example as an outstanding worker in compliance with department and hospital policies.
• Attend all required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards.
• Follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans for blood borne and airborne pathogens.
• Demonstrate respect for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
• Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally.
• Assist in recommendations for hiring, promotions, demotions, transfers, and other personnel actions including disciplinary action.
• Work varied shifts for short periods of time in the absence of supervision.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• One to three years of experience in housekeeping.
