Under direction, supervises, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of staff responsible for the electrical work in and repairs to County facilities; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and performs the more technical and complex tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility.

- Select, supervise, train, and evaluate staff
- Plan, coordinate, assign, and review the work of subordinate staff

- Monitor and interpret budgets and other financial documents

- Read and follow electrical three line or single line diagrams and locate equipment or devices, including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
- Operate a variety of motor vehicles, power tools, test equipment and hand tools
- Use computer software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Perform diagnostics to determine faults and logic problems
- Operate a laptop to troubleshoot and determine machine control Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) faults and logic problems
- Document machine control Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and control circuit modifications
- Interpret manuals, factory schematics, and reference materials to implement innovative solutions to complex problems
Five years of full time paid experience as a journey level electrician in the commercial and/or industrial environment, three years of which must include experience leading electrical staff and assembling estimates/budgets.
A General Building Contractor license will not be accepted as a substitute for the minimum qualifications stated above.

If the word “experience” is referenced in the minimum qualifications, it means full‑time paid experience unless the minimum qualification states that volunteer experience is acceptable. Part‑time paid experience may be accumulated and pro‑rated to meet the total experience requirements.
