Maintenance Technician III

Salary Range $30.00 - $40.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time

Job Description

Maintenance Technician III strives to ensure the company facilities are well-cared for and to support the company's business operations. The Maintenance Technician III will repair and maintain the building(s) and any mechanical equipment on the premises. They ensure timely installation and upkeep of the company's property and appliance systems to ensure operational effectiveness. The Maintenance Technician will have a solid understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, etc.

They will be well-versed in all maintenance processes, including health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will also have aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting etc.

Essential Functions:

Must demonstrate ability to work effectively under a substantial workload, time constraints, frequent interruptions, and conflicting and/or shifting priorities.

  • Demonstrates the ability to read, understand, interpret, explain, and apply applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make sound judgments based on information available.
  • Perform unskilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and construction of buildings and grounds.

Research potential products, vendors, and services. Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for execution of maintenance work.

  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
  • Ability to expertly use hand tools and power tools.
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, including drywall repair, painting, plumbing, electrical and other building maintenance.

Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept in clean and hygienic conditions.

  • Troubleshoot and identify equipment and issues to necessary repairs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, while completing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate written and oral.
  • Develop systems to control, mitigate, or correct violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Identify compliance issues and provide advice or training. Adheres to legal standards and in-house policies.

Implement workplace safety policies and standards.

Ensure compliance across areas such as health and safety, and facility safety.

  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain inventory, equipment, warranty and preventive maintenance records.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed, remaining on call as assigned.
  • Prepare and provide reports as required.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure smooth running operation.
  • Work effectively under a substantial workload, time constraints, frequent interruptions, and conflicting and/or shifting priorities.
  • Flexibility to travel to other company locations and assist with projects and/or trainings.
  • Receive projects from all administrative personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment

Office and healthcare setting with clients and other employees present.

  • Working indoors primarily and outdoors occasionally.
  • May walk on slippery and uneven walking surfaces.
  • Excessive continuous noise at times.
  • Typical office and computer lab environment.
  • Mostly indoor office environment with windows and lights.
  • Offices with equipment noise.
  • Offices with frequent interruptions.
Physical Demands

Prolonged periods standing and walking.

Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.

Travel Required
  • Ability to travel to various offices or facility locations.
Required

Education and Experience
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Practical experience with maintenance of facilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity in understanding blueprints and schematics.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License.
