We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Project Laborer to join our team in the Placer/ Sacramento, CA area. Our company provides equipment rental, logistics, and field support services to natural disaster response, recovery, and restoration companies throughout California and neighboring states.
The Project Laborer will assist with the delivery, setup, maintenance, and removal of equipment used during disaster response operations, including wildfire recovery, flood response, storm damage restoration, emergency housing projects, and other emergency deployments. This position requires travel, flexibility, and the ability to work in challenging environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and staging rental equipment.
- Deliver, assemble, install, and remove equipment at customer and project sites.
- Support disaster response and recovery operations during emergency deployments.
- Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of company equipment.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, yard, and work vehicle.
- Follow company safety procedures and site-specific requirements.
- Assist with inventory tracking and equipment documentation.
- Work closely with project managers, drivers, and field personnel.
- Travel to job sites throughout California and surrounding states as needed.
- Assist during emergency response situations, which may require overtime, weekends, or extended travel.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently and stay overnight when necessary.
- Previous labor, construction, warehouse, restoration, or equipment rental experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and positive attitude.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of equipment and materials.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working in active disaster recovery zones, construction sites, warehouses, and temporary facilities.
