General Labor, Building Maintenance
The main role of this position is to perform general labor duties and assist facilities maintenance personnel with maintenance/repairs.
The temporary employee will also perform general laborer tasks alongside or independent of the state facilities employees and will perform tasks such as but not limited to snow removal, facility and grounds maintenance, and job clean up. The perfect candidate must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, have strong customer service skills, and be able to use general hand tools for basic tasks.
Function of the work unit is to provide a safe, comfortable and cost effective facility to allow our customers to provide their designated services to the people of the State of Michigan, and to provide
maintenance and construction services to preserve the investment of the State of Michigan, DTMB.
The main duties are escorting personnel, loading and unloading deliveries, snow removal, cleaning up, being first responders to building complaints regarding lights that are out, temperature issues, modular furniture, strange odors, etc., and preparing the way for emergency personnel to give them quick access to individuals when an ambulance is called.
Ability to work in hot/cold temperatures outdoors. Skills and knowledge required to safely operate motorized equipment and power tools.
Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License.

Shift: 8:00 a.m.
-4:30 p.m., M-F (some weekends required for snow removal)
