SUMMARY OF

JOB PURPOSE:

Under ongoing supervision, loads and unloads pipe, raw materials, coils, and other materials required by the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Loads materials and equipment safely and efficiently on vehicles and equipment.
  • Unloads materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Operates crane in a safe manner.
  • Participates in all inventories.
  • Performs other duties as needed by the Mill Supervisor.
  • Follows ISO procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is necessary in order to perform the essential functions of this position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK HOURS / SHIFT

  • Work hours vary or change based on operational needs.
  • Must be able to work on Saturdays and overtime as required.

EDUCATION/

EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
