Custodian Position
Mandatory minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Clean all indoor facilities including floors, walls, windows and surfaces in all rooms and hallways including restrooms, locker rooms, offices, classrooms, gymnasiums and cafeterias.
- Use cleaning materials and techniques as directed.
- Empty all wastebaskets.
- Restock disposable items such as soap and paper towels.
- Keep a running inventory of custodial supplies that they are responsible for and request supplies as needed from the head custodian.
- Make repairs to damaged furniture, doors, locks, window shades, etc.
- Assist with implementation of the district's pest management program.
- Assist with seasonal grounds work such as snow, ice, leaf and trash removal and lawn care.
- Respond to inquiries from staff, students, parents, and/or visitors for the purpose of providing information, taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Secure facilities and grounds (e.g. windows, doors, gates, lights, alarms, etc.) at the close of the day or the evening if there is a night activity in the building.
- Respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage, vandalism, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel or resolution.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Terms:
$17.35+ per hour with possible steps for experience; full-time with benefits, which include district-paid medical, dental, and life insurance valued at $8,225 annually, and PEERS retirement that is vested after 5 years.
Effective:
Immediately.

Immediately; open until filled.
Classification:
Non-exempt.
