Position SummaryThe Maintenance Worker is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and safety of the nursing home facility. This role supports a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors by performing routine maintenance, responding to work orders, and assisting with regulatory compliance.

- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous maintenance experience required; healthcare or nursing home experience preferred
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance
- Ability to read work orders, maintenance logs, and safety instructions
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to respond to on‑call or emergency maintenance needs (if required)
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
- Must pass background check and comply with state healthcare requirements
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs to the building, grounds, and equipment
- Conduct inspections of facility systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, locks)
- Respond promptly to maintenance work orders and emergency repair requests
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs
- Maintain facility safety by identifying and correcting hazards
- Monitor and maintain generators, boilers, fire alarm systems, and other life‑safety equipment as applicable
- Assist with room turnover, including basic repairs and equipment setup
- Maintain exterior grounds, including snow removal, lawn care, and trash removal
- Ensure proper storage and handling of tools, supplies, and chemicals
- Comply with all state, federal, and facility safety regulations
- Collaborate with housekeeping, nursing, and administration to support daily operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Administrator
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift a maximum 300 lbs. utilizing appropriate lifting devices
- Ability to climb & work off of extension ladders
- May require exposure to cleaning chemicals, machinery, and outdoor weather conditions
