Hourly Rate: $18.50-$21.00, depending on experience.
Position OverviewThe Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily facility maintenance requests, coordinating room and event setups, and performing repairs to buildings, equipment, and grounds. This role serves as the primary point of contact for maintenance issues and acts as the lead groundskeeper. The Maintenance Coordinator works closely with the Director of Facilities to ensure campus operations are safe, efficient, and well‑maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and repair work on facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
- Respond promptly and effectively to maintenance requests.
- Assist in facility operations in the absence of the Director of Facilities, as appropriate.
- Conduct routine maintenance, minor repairs, and cleaning to ensure facilities remain in excellent condition.
- Maintain and operate equipment, including lawn tractors, trucks, skid‑steers, and other vehicles.
- Perform groundskeeping duties, including mowing, snow removal, and general campus upkeep.
- Monitor building access by checking doors and ensuring proper security protocols are followed.
- Complete basic electrical and plumbing repairs as needed.
- Support construction and renovation projects, including coordination and implementation tasks.
- Assist with event setup, breakdown, and facility clean‑up.
- Support campus safety and security initiatives.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance and cleanliness needs.
- Assist with boiler system monitoring and compliance requirements.
- Receive and distribute deliveries across campus.
- Perform custodial duties as needed.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of maintenance or related experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minnesota Special Boiler License preferred (or must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Ability to obtain a Minnesota Class 1C Boiler License within 4 years of hire.
- Basic proficiency with computers, email, and two‑way radio systems preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to access and navigate all campus facilities.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting, and lifting.
- Work environment includes:
- Frequent exposure to mechanical equipment and moderate noise levels.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather, humidity, chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
