The Archdiocese of Milwaukee located in St. Francis, WI, has an opening for a custodian.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide room setup and takedown
- Set up A/V equipment for meetings and events and test equipment
- Clean meeting rooms before and after meetings
- Perform miscellaneous cleaning as needed due to spills, weather, etc.
- Dispose of waste and recycling
- Assist in maintaining supplies
- Perform seasonal snow removal and other outside work
- Clean-up of outside walkway, courtyard, and building upkeep as assigned
- Assist maintenance staff
- Provide assistance to office employees and leaders
Skills and Experience:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Basic math skills
- Ability to use small hand tools and cleaning supplies
- Ability to follow sanitation procedures
- Works well with others
- Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision and attention to detail
- Must have a strong work ethic
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Custodial or janitorial experience preferred
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, lifting, bending, twisting while holding tools or work supplies and equipment
- Most work is indoors with some work outdoors
- Some evening and weekend work required
- Occasionally-lift up to 75 pounds, use of ladders and scaffolding
- Regularly-lift carry and move up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures in an outside environment
Compensation and Benefits:
The position is a full-time (40 hours per week), salaried position working in-person at the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Pastoral Center.
