Job Description & How to Apply Below

Description

Looking for steady, hands-on work that doesn’t take over your life? This one’s built for exactly that.

We’re hiring a part-time Maintenance Technician for two St. George communities —
Black Hills and Snow Canyon
. Up to 25 hours a week, with benefits most part‑time jobs don’t offer. If you want steady maintenance work that fits around the rest of your life — semi‑retirement, family, or another gig — we’d love to meet you.

Why you’ll love this job

  • True part-time hours. Up to 25 hours a week — designed to leave room for whatever else matters to you.
  • Benefits that are rare for part-time. Paid time off accruing from your first day and a 401(k) with company match, both after 6 months.
  • Work that means something. You’ll keep safe, affordable homes running for the families who live in them.
  • No two days the same. A little plumbing, a little carpentry, some HVAC, some grounds — you’ll use your whole toolbox.
  • We cover the extras. Mileage reimbursement between properties, plus a monthly cell phone allowance.

What you’ll do

  • Handle routine, preventative maintenance and repairs across both communities.
  • Tackle a mix of plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, and carpentry tasks.
  • Keep grounds and walkways safe and looking their best year‑round — including seasonal snow and ice.
  • Get units move‑in ready and help with inspections, move‑ins, and move‑outs.
  • Spot small issues before they become big ones, and keep the Property Manager in the loop.
  • Pitch in on occasional after‑hours emergencies and general upkeep as needed.

What we’re looking for

  • At least 1 year of hands‑on maintenance experience and a high school diploma.
  • A solid, general working knowledge of building systems — plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry.
  • Your own basic tools for general maintenance work.
  • A reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license to travel between properties.
  • Comfort working outdoors in all seasons and lifting up to 75 lbs when the job calls for it.
  • Flexibility for the occasional evening, weekend, or holiday need.
  • A dependable, friendly presence our residents can count on.

Community Housing Services, Inc. is a non‑profit on a mission: a world where everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, has access to safe, affordable, dignified housing. Every repair you make helps our residents call a place home. It’s honest work that leaves a community better than you found it.
