Facilities Manager

The JobThis role ensures that all aspects of the building and grounds are maintained in excellent working order, creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members, staff, and visitors. This position involves hands‑on maintenance, event support, and coordination with volunteers to keep facilities operating efficiently and looking their best.
Hours:
Schedule Tuesday - Thursday 10:30-6:30pm, Friday noon - 8pm and Saturday 8am-4pm. All staff are expected to work on High Holidays as assigned. When needed, the schedule may flex per programming schedule
- Maintain all indoor and outdoor facilities in good working order.
- Perform basic repairs as assigned.
- Open and close the building as assigned, ensuring security and readiness for use.
- Conduct daily inspections to identify maintenance or safety issues.
- Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the indoor and outdoor facilities including The Nest playground.
- Care for indoor plants and ensure proper upkeep of green spaces.
- Perform laundry and care of linens when needed.
- Ensure all events are set up properly, fully, and on time according to requirements.
- Set up and break down Onegs, maintaining the Oneg floor in excellent condition.
- Coordinate furniture arrangement, AV setup, and supply needs for programs and rentals.
- Maintain orderly and accessible storage areas.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restocking supplies, and emptying trash.
- Respond promptly to emergency cleaning requests (e.g., spills or safety hazards).
- Monitor and replenish supply stock daily.
- Coordinate farm and garden work with volunteer crews.
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Facilities regarding facility needs, repairs, and upcoming events.
- Communicate with and supervise outside contractors/vendors, as needed.
- Minimum 7 years of work experience.
- Significant experience in facilities, events management and outside vendor relationships.
- Understanding of Jewish religion, traditions and culture necessary.
- Superior collaborator, works well in a team and pitches in as needed.
