Summer Hours (2026)- Week 1 (May 26 – May 29, Tues‑Fri): 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (8 hours)
- Weeks 2‑3 (June 1 – June 12, Mon‑Fri): 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (8 hours)
- Week 6 (June 29 – July 2, Mon‑Thurs): 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (8 hours)
- Weeks 7‑10 (July 6 – July 30, Mon‑Thurs): 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (10 hours)
- Weeks 11‑13 (August 3 – August 21, Mon‑Fri): 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (8 hours)
Holidays: Fri, June 19 (Juneteenth) and Fri, July 3 (July
4) are observed with school district closed; notes that as a seasonal, hourly employee holidays are unpaid.
Required:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Physically able to perform the specific tasks.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Completion of a background check, physical capacity assessment, and drug screen prior to start date.

PurposeThis person is responsible for general upkeep of the grounds, maintenance work, and operation of motorized equipment as instructed by the Director of Operations or his appointed representative.
Essential Job Functions- Attend work in a regular, reliable, and punctual manner.
- Work with the assigned supervisor to maintain grounds and buildings of the St. Joseph School District under various conditions.
- Operate power equipment as required for specific tasks.
- Safeguard the School District property, buildings, grounds, and equipment from damage during duties.
- Collaborate with supervisor and maintenance staff on grounds projects such as mowing, seeding, and application of chemicals.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Maintenance & Operations or his appointed representative.
- Maintain appropriate grooming and appearance suitable for a school setting.
- Limit cell phone use to essential conversation only.
- Prohibit tobacco of any form at all times.
- Other assigned duties.
