About the Role
As Lead Building Engineer, you will ensure the maintenance systems run efficiently and safely for our clients and their properties. You will respond to client requests, prioritize and assign work orders, conduct regular inspections, develop preventive maintenance programs, and maintain strong relationships with property managers and suppliers.
Responsibilities- Maintain and check daily operating logs for air conditioning units, fan units, utility meters, and address general complaints.
- Respond to client requests, prioritize and assign work orders, and follow up to ensure minimal downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections, alarm testing, and implement preventive maintenance programs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with property managers, suppliers, and department leaders.
- Assist in the development of the annual budget and RFP process for budgeted projects.
- Demonstrate clear understanding of operating procedures and proper chemical treatment levels for cooling towers and boilers.
- Manage multiple priorities and prepare reports, including inventory, records, and schedules.
- At least 5 years of experience in building/property maintenance or engineering.
- Solid knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, energy management systems and other building mechanical equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Flexibility to be on‑call for after‑hours/weekend emergency requests.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience with work order and preventive maintenance software systems.
- Relevant licenses or certifications required by building and jurisdictional regulations.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
