Job Summary
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general building maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure all company facilities, shop areas, and equipment operate safely and efficiently. This position supports both office and shop environments, ensuring a clean, safe, and well‑maintained workspace that meets company standards and operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Performs general building maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance activities for all facilities.
- Completes scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on building systems, tools, and equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
- Replaces and repairs lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, and other basic electrical components.
- Provides maintenance and minor repairs for HVAC systems to ensure proper operation.
- Manages repairs and upkeep on garage doors, fuel islands, and related shop equipment.
- Monitors overall building integrity and coordinates larger repairs as needed.
- Maintains building aesthetics, interior and exterior, through repairs, painting, spackling, ceiling tile replacement, and other upkeep tasks.
- Supports janitorial and facility cleanliness, including window cleaning and trash removal when required.
- Assists with groundskeeping, snow removal, or exterior upkeep as necessary.
- Operates hand, power, and air tools safely and effectively for assigned maintenance tasks.
- Assists with maintaining facility maintenance records and tracking supply inventory.
- Responds promptly to maintenance requests and ensures timely completion of assigned work orders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility or building maintenance.
- Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient with common hand, power, and air tools used in building maintenance.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain required (Fork Truck Safety License).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams).
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
