Job ResponsibilitiesThe 2nd Shift Maintenance Worker phen Protomartyr Catholic Church performs custodial, groundskeeping, and basic maintenance duties across multiple parish and school campuses. This role ensures facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained, supports parish events through setup and breakdown, and contributes to a welcoming environment aligned with the Church’s mission.
- Clean and maintain church, school, and parish buildings, including floors, restrooms, and common areas
- Perform routine janitorial duties such as mopping, vacuuming, window cleaning, and trash removal
- Maintain outdoor areas by mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, and seasonal leaf removal
- Remove snow and ice from walkways and entrances to ensure safe access
- Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for parish and school events
- Assist with minor maintenance and repairs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor
- Transport and move equipment, supplies, and materials as needed
- Monitor and report supply and equipment needs
- Follow safety procedures while using cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Collaborate with staff and parish leadership to support daily operations
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Janitorial or maintenance experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and maintenance practices
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform manual labor
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and climates
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, self-motivated, and adaptable
- Willingness to support and respect the mission and values of the Catholic Church
