Day Porter – St. Charles (Full‑Time Cleaning)

Location: St. Charles near 370 & Elm exit.
Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday.
Start: Immediately.

Requirements: Must pass a background check. Must be able to vacuum, sweep, mop, clean bathrooms, and empty trash.

This position maintains a clean and healthy environment in customers’ buildings and grounds. The Day Porter performs all cleaning duties using provided products, tools, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

• Remove debris, maintain common space areas, restock bathrooms, and respond to cleaning emergencies.
• Perform sweeping, mopping, polishing, window cleaning, and moving furniture and equipment.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE where required.
• Clean all common space areas including kitchen, cafeteria, lobby, and break rooms.
• Place safety hazard signs in the building including "wet floor" signs as needed.
• Monitor, clean, service, and restock bathrooms.
• Respond immediately to major spills or other cleaning crises.
• Remove litter and debris from common space areas.
• Prefer 1–2 years’ experience as a custodian, janitor, or housekeeper (not required).
• Willingness to receive on‑the‑job training.
• Experience with a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital, or school is a plus.
• Demonstrate flexibility, multitasking, and a fast‑paced work style.
• Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude, uniform, dependability, and punctuality.
• Show respect and understanding for co‑workers and customers.
• Fluency in English communication.

• Constant standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching overhead, and forward. Must lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to read cleaning instructions.
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses.
