Groundskeeper

Position Summary:

Responsible for safely maintaining and ensuring the beauty of the District grounds and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2-5 years of job-related experience preferred
• Commercial Driver's License preferred
• Requires completion of Asbestos Awareness Program, upon hire

Essential Job Functions:

• Safely maintains and ensures the beauty of the grounds including cutting grass, controlling weeds, trimming landscaping and caring for plants, trees and shrubs.
• Hauls dirt, sand, gravel and mulch.
• Operates, repairs and maintains grounds maintenance equipment and ensures its safety.
• Moves heavy objects and equipment.
• Installs, replaces and repairs fences.
• Repairs and installs asphalt and concrete as needed.
• Prepares athletic fields for sporting events.
• Removes snow and ice from parking areas and entrances before, during and after school hours
• Serves as a substitute custodian as needed.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Compensation for experience is considered,  Classified Salary Schedule
