Job SummarySt. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the upkeep, safety, and cleanliness of parish facilities and grounds. This role supports the mission of the parish by maintaining a welcoming and well-functioning environment for worship, ministry, and community activities.
Job Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, systems, and equipment
- Monitor and address facility needs, ensuring a safe and clean environment
- Assist with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair tasks as needed
- Perform groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, and seasonal upkeep
- Set up and break down spaces for Mass, events, meetings, and parish programs
- Conduct regular inspections and report or resolve maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance logs
- Assist with custodial tasks, including cleaning common areas and waste removal
- Support seasonal needs such as snow removal, salting, and leaf cleanup
- Work collaboratively with parish staff and respond to facility-related requests
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred. Prior maintenance, facilities, or custodial experience preferred. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and follow direction. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Availability for occasional evenings or weekends as needed. Commitment to supporting the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
